Overnight 10 / 11th February 2010, 2 trailer loads of whisky were stolen from a transport depot in Dumfries.

Both trailers are 'SDC' make container style semi-trailers and yellow in colour.

Both trailers were loaded with Grants Family Reserve, 3 yrs old whisky with a duty value alone in excess of £250,000.

MO: - Cut padlock securing rear gates to Transport Depot, enter with 2 articulated units, hitch up trailers, leave via point of entry securing the gates with a padlock alien to the locus.

Both trailers were destined for France and had only stopped at this location overnight.

Information at this time suggests that the two trailers have been recovered in Widnes and Wigan.
