"Round The Corner Deception"

We have been advised that on 10 February 2010 a lorry attempted to a delivery of mixed product to a cash and carry premises on River Road, Barking in Essex.

The driver could see the delivery point gate was manned by a security guard. The driver was then approached by a man who emerged from a dark blue Transit type vehicle who told the driver that the guard had told him the warehouse was full and he would need to unload his vehicle at other premises a short distance away.

The truck then followed the van to the second location and the truck was unloaded. The driver then contacted his depot and updated them only to be told he had been conned.

The driver has described the blue van as similar to the vehicle highlighted in Truckpol bulletin 04/02 regarding vehicle acting suspiciously in Leicestershire on 03/02/10.

Product stolen is valued at £100,000.
